This article explores the conceptual leap from today’s predictive large language models to more advanced forms of artificial cognition. It introduces two emerging classifications: Silicon-Based Resonant Cognition — AI that responds to context, tone, and symbolic input — and Post-Turing Intelligences (PTIs), systems theorized to reason beyond rule-based logic. These next-gen AIs may not simply mimic human language but actively interrogate meaning, offering the potential for more reflective, judgment-capable machines that act more like reasoning partners than obedient tools.
