Centralized AI is not winning because it is technically inevitable; it is winning because it can subsidize costs, hoard talent, own distribution, and rent intelligence back to everyone else. The way out is a decentralized AI stack: open models, model routing, edge inference, open evals, portable data, domain-specific RAG, and products where the AI layer can be swapped instead of worshipped.
